This overthrow has reached new milestones with corporatist Republican Presidents posing as populists despite their promotion of a nakedly corporatist agenda.

With Reagan, we saw the White House openly and unabashedly taking policy requests from corporations as for how their regulations should be written. As well, we got the massive normalization of the fraud of supply-side economics and the "trickle-down" scam.

Things from there continued in a corporatist trajectory, with the interests of multi-national corporations being the top consideration above the good of the American people.

More recently, with Trump, we've seen the corporate fat-cats eliminating the middle man by running directly for public office themselves. Once a fat-cat had the White House, we saw the following mid-term election feature a variety of different corporate fat-cats running with the euphemism of "conservative outsiders."

And in the 2020 primaries, we even saw one fat-cat attempt to buy the Oval Office itself out from under the one already there.

Seeing as how some of these in the "Red States" have won the offices they coveted, this trend can only continue until a vast many more shall infest our government, running things to the extreme detriment of the majority of the population.
